The celebrated genre-hopping American novelist Jeff VanderMeer will be interviewed by Teodor Reljić for what promises to be rich and dynamic encounter that truly taps into the theme of this year’s Malta Book Festival: metamorphosis, as expressed by its tagline – writing anew.
Author of the award-winning Southern Reach series – the first of which, Annihilation, was adapted to a cult feature film by Alex Garland, starring Natalie Portman – VanderMeer will delve into his recent return to the now-quadrology for a parting salvo (Absolution), the evolution of his hard-to-define literary style and how the climate crisis continues to spur his fiction.
