About this Event
PRESERVATION DELAWARE welcomes Jeff to the Arden Gild Hall for an amazing LIVE Speaker Series that will highlight his expertise in Historic Carpentry, Restoration and he’ll even be sharing some of the fun and interesting things that have happened to him while filming his long-running television show. America fell in love with the charming, whirling dervish Devlin on his “Stone House Revival” TV show, which now airs in reruns on the Magnolia network. In the program, Devlin traveled to different historic homes and renovated them, preserving their heritage while improving their livability.
Throughout each episode – and in all of the TV and personal appearances Devlin has done in his 20-plus year career – he drops insanely interesting jewels about historic preservation that belie his persona as a flannel-wearing everyman who is, as he claims, “just a carpenter.” From joists to hinges to electrical and plumbing, Devlin’s knowledge of carpentry and home renovation is not only encyclopedic but minutely detail oriented.
Jeff (a PA Native) is an incredibly charismatic speaker and owner/operator of Schoolhouse Woodworking LLC. The event will also be showcasing Jeff’s use and knowledge of historic tools that were used to build and repair 18th/19th century houses and buildings, just like they were done here in Delaware all those years ago. A Q&A session will also follow each of the two hour long segments. This may be his first time speaking in Delaware, but it will be a perfect marriage for PA & DE history fans to enjoy!
A FREE cocktail Meet & Greet will follow (for all ticket buyers)
