About this Event
The Sacramento Mountains Foundation is proud to present the second installment of its Speaker Series: An Evening with Gary Sinise on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Flickinger Center for Performing Arts in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Gary Sinise is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor best known for his iconic portrayal of Lieutenant Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump—a role that forged a lasting bond with military communities worldwide. But beyond Hollywood, Sinise has devoted more than four decades to serving those who serve. In 2011, he founded the Gary Sinise Foundation, which has built specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans, supported Gold Star families, and provided critical resources to active-duty service members, veterans, and first responders across the country. His tireless advocacy earned him the Presidential Citizens Medal from President George W. Bush—only the third actor ever to receive this honor.
This special evening will feature a moderated conversation exploring themes of resilience, strength, sacrifice, and the importance of honoring our nation's defenders. Sinise will share stories from his decades of work with military families and reflect on what it means to serve those who have given so much for our country.
Join us for an inspiring evening with one of America's most dedicated advocates for our military community.
