Florence Given grew up in Plymouth and started her studies at Plymouth College of Art, before moving to London in 2017 to study at the London College of Fashion. She has garnered a considerable social media following with her bold prints accompanied by short feminist essays that confront attitudes towards women and their bodies.

Given’s debut book Women Don’t Owe You Pretty, a manifesto exploring issues of contemporary feminism, came out in 2020. It became an instant bestseller and has been translated into several languages. Her first novel, Girlcrush (2022), mines the world of social media and its impact on modern womanhood.
