Creative 360 Welcomes Artist Ellie Harold Ellie Harold paints vibrant abstractions in oil and is the creator of BIRDS FLY IN: A Human Refuge, a migration-inspired, avian-themed multimedia art installation. The largely self-taught and prolific artist is based in Frankfort, Michigan. Ellie also paints in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where she facilitates an annual Art Retreat for Women. Her workshops aim to cultivate a consciousness of the deep intuitive space from which all original creation emerges.
An Evening with Ellie Harold:
Book Talk & Signing
Friday, March 11 / 7:00—8:30 pm
$15 Preregistration Required / Workshop participants free
After many discouraging attempts, Ellie Harold was convinced that she was without artistic talent. At age 52, however, she received a definitive calling to “Do Art.” Almost 20 years later, the self-taught artist has easily produced more than 1000 paintings, over 500 of which have found homes in private and public collections in the U.S. and abroad. (4 of her paintings are currently on display in the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia.) Her intuitively-conceived multimedia exhibition BIRDS FLY IN: A Human Refuge recently completed its second installation at the Dennos Museum on the campus of Northwest Michigan College in Traverse City.
Ellie’s book 7 Habits of Deeply Fulfilled Artists: Our Aesthetic Needs & How to Meet Them offers practical advice and encouragement for artists of all skill levels (or none). Do you desire to discover, express, and value the Art that wants to be made by you? Drawing from powerful ideas in her book and experience, Ellie will show you why and how you should Do Your Art! Past participants in Creative 360’s The Artist’s Way programs will find a wonderful congruence and fresh take on many of the same themes that Julia Cameron addressed over 25 years ago.
Ellie will bring copies of her book to sell, however, if you want to read 7 Habits in advance of the event, it’s available in print or Kindle versions on Amazon.com.
