For a decade he would go on to win the Gold Medal at the Inaugural World Championships held in Helsinki in 1983,Gold Medals at the 1982 & 1986 European Championships, 3 Gold Medals at the 1978, 1982 & 1986 Commonwealth Games and was a 2 time Olympic Gold Medallist in 1980 in Moscow and again in 1984 at the Los Angeles Olympics setting World records along the way .
A winning machine ,unrelenting and invincible at the peak of his powers , his supremacy was a product of his singular willpower and courage.
