An Evening with Carla Gannis

The title of this talk comes from a quote by artist Jasper Johns, and to Carla Gannis, it encapsulates her 25-year practice of digital remix and transmedia storytelling. Beginning with core conceptual seeds, Gannis will share how she transforms and translates ideas across multiple dimensions—from traditional mediums like painting and drawing to what she terms “healing-edge” (rather than cutting-edge) technologies, including XR and AI. The talk illuminates her methodology of continuous experimentation, showing how a single artistic concept can evolve and proliferate across diverse media channels while maintaining its essential DNA.
