I’ve long been a fan of Carl Ehrhard’s rieslings and was fortunate to host him six years ago for a tasting event. The winery began in 1815 and Carl took over for his father in 1998. The Rheingau region makes some stunning wines with its steep vineyards that face south and get more sun exposure. Ehrhard’s wines have long been underpriced relative to other producers but everything has been paid off and he doesn’t think he needs to charge more. The vineyards are organically and biodynamically farmed. You'll get to taste a unique mix of wines that include dry and off-dry riesling, white pinot noir, and his traditional pinot noir. The tasting will be 6-8pm, taste at your own pace, for $25. Pouring will begin at 6pm and end at 8pm so please give yourself enough time to taste through the wines. You can pay that evening, but if you plan to attend, we'd appreciate your RSVP so we have an estimate. We'll have our snacks menu, you can order from JT's Pizza & Pub, or we encourage you visit one of our neighboring restaurants before or after the tasting.
