Seeing the Stories of Refugees in Ocean Vuong's "On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous"About this Event
Regis University's Center for the Study of War Experience (CSWE) will co-host renowned poet, essayist and novelist Ocean Vuong as the Keynote Speaker in the 2023 Stories from Wartime series.
The event will focus on Vuong’s bestselling and award-winning book, "On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous," which poignantly addresses his upbringing as the son of a Vietnamese refugee and his Vietnamese-American identity. Ocean's campus visit corresponds with CSWE's thematic focus on the Vietnam War and refugee stories.
