Often called “the people’s author”, Lamott is known for her self-deprecating humor, unflinching honesty, and fierce compassion. Her bestselling novels, nonfiction, and autobiographical essays—rooted in her own life experiences—explore themes of faith, motherhood, loss, recovery, and the messy, beautiful reality of being human. She has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship, writes for The Washington Post, has taught at UC Davis and at writing conferences across the country, and is a proud inductee into the California Hall of Fame.
