About this Event

Books & Books is thrilled to announce an evening with Alissa DeRogatis presenting her new romance novel: Call It What You Want (Sourcebooks Landmark, $17.99).
“You know Sloane’s story from the very beginning. As your friend, your sister, your younger self. Her story is not unique, and that’s what makes this novel so unique. It breaks your heart in a way only someone you know intimately could, making this an important read for any woman who has ever thought, ‘I can be enough to change him.’” — Diana Elliott Graham, author of When We Were

***Please note: This event will take place at the Books & Books in Coral Gables at 265 Aragon Ave. Tickets are FREE and books will be available for purchase at the event. Can't make the event?

About the Book:

A nostalgic ode to all almost-love stories—the ones with no label and no title but an undeniable intensity. Call it what you want... Was it love?
The last thing Sloane Hart needs is a guy to distract from her pursuing her dreams. After witnessing the emotional damage of her own parents' breakup, she swears off dating, Sloane determined to graduate college, become a writer, and move to New York to live her best Sex and the City life. That is, until she meets her upstairs neighbor Ethan Brady. Ethan is guarded and mysterious, unwilling to talk about his past or let anyone get too close. And Sloane's attraction to him is undeniable.

As they start dating without labels, they both know it can’t last forever. Sloane imagines a future with Ethan, but he can’t give her the commitment she needs. Will she be able to convince Ethan to take a chance on it? Or will she have to learn the hard way that some things just aren’t meant to be?

Sloane and Ethan’s story is a bittersweet tale of love and self-discovery that explores the complexities of situationships and the challenges of moving on.
