An evening of Schubert Lieder

Vaughan Hawthorne-Nelson returns to St Augustine's Church with a full programme of Schubert Lieder arranged for saxophone and string quartet. He is joined by the Leon String Quartet.

Vaughan will also be premiering his quintet composition Revelations of Loss.

'The work refers to loss, both personal and universal.

It speaks to life' s sweetness and giving thanks for the people, places and art

that inspires, whilst questioning what is to be accepted and what is to be rejected.

It seems, over a hundred years on, 'the Old Lie' of Wilfred Owen' s,

Dulce Et Decorum Est is far from gone.'
