About Is This The Way Home?:
Judy Dushku’s debut novel, Is This the Way Home?, tells the gripping story of Adong Agnes, who escapes the Lord’s Resistance Army after fifteen years of captivity, only to face rejection from her family and community. Determined to rebuild her life, she finds strength through work, faith, and unexpected allies. As she heals from trauma, she reconnects with lost family and discovers a new purpose: helping other displaced women. Dushku, the founder of a trauma healing NGO in Gulu, Uganda, brings firsthand insight and emotional depth to this heartbreaking and hopeful narrative.
