About this Event
The Way of Stillness and Flow is a Taoist Tai Chi journey for women, held weekly at Swansea Wellbeing Centre. This class offers a gentle yet powerful approach to restoring balance, clarity, and quiet strength. Through authentic Qi-based Tai Chi flow, ancient breathwork, and energy-infused meditation, participants are guided to release emotional weight, rekindle energy without force, and reconnect with their inner selves.
Each session is more than instruction; it is a curated healing space, rooted in Daoist wisdom and embodied practice.
Led by Dr Jar, a Taoist practitioner with family lineage in traditional energy work, the class invites women to experience Tai Chi not as performance but as reconnection.
Join us to discover softness as strength, stillness as clarity, and flow as a path to renewal and belonging.
Agenda
🕑: 04:30 PM - 04:45 PM
Standing Meditation and Settling Down
Host: Dr Jar
Info: Each class begins with simple standing meditation.
We stand quietly, feet rooted, spine upright, shoulders relaxed. This is a practice of settling, calming the breath, releasing tension, and allowing the body to feel stable and supported.
From here we move into gentle warm-up exercises: sensing the Qi, awakening the breath, loosening the joints and preparing the body for Tai Chi. These movements are easy to follow and suitable for all levels.
🕑: 04:45 PM - 05:15 PM
Tai Chi Flow
Host: Dr Jar
Info: Each Tai Chi flow session draws from authentic Chinese Yang and Chen style movements, shaped into a flow that follows the week’s theme. The practice awakens awareness, guides the natural movement of Qi, and restores harmony between body and mind. Rooted in Eastern tradition yet alive in modern life, Tai Chi Flow is meditation in motion: gentle, grounded and aligned.
🕑: 05:15 PM - 05:30 PM
Seated Meditation into Stillness
Host: Dr Jar
Info: The class closes with seated meditation, guiding the breath to settle deeply into the Dantian, where is the body’s center of energy. As the breath gathers, the mind becomes clear, the body rooted, and awareness returns to profound stillness. This final practice draws the energy inward, restoring calm and grounding for the days ahead.
