Amy Walter, political analyst and award winning forecaster of national U.S. elections joins Calvin Mackenzie, former Chair of the Colby College Government Department, to discuss what the elections of 2024 foretell about the world we live in and the future of national U.S. elections.

Amy Walter is an American political analyst who is the publisher and editor-in-chief of The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter. A contributor to thePBS NewsHour, she provides weekly political analysis for the popular “Politics Monday” segment and is a featured contributor for their Election and Convention special coverage events. She is also a regular Sunday panelist on NBC’sMeet the Pressand CNN’sInside Politics and appears frequently on Special Report with Bret Baier on Fox News Channel. She is a graduate and sits on the board of Colby College.

Calvin Mackenzie is The Goldfarb Family Distinguished Professor of Government Emeritus at Colby College where his courses in government, particularly on the American presidency, were among the most popular across the curriculum. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College and received his PhD from Harvard University. The federal government has frequently tapped his expertise in presidential transitions and appointments. He has served as senior advisor to both the Presidential Appointee Initiative and the National Commission on Public Service and as a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution. He has authored and edited more than a dozen books, including coauthoring The Liberal Hour: Washington and the Politics of Change in the 1960s, a book that was a finalist for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in History.

As master observers of elections, Walter and Mackenzie will share with us their perspective on the shifting American political landscape post the 2024 election.
