We are delighted to welcome back this top Amy Winehouse tribute band. Brilliant entertainers and it always sells out. New matinee added!Now, as a rule, we don’t do very many cover and tribute bands. There are other places that do this much better than we can. Our preference it to put on high quality original music from the most talented singer-songwriters in the UK and abroad.
That said, we do make exceptions for high quality bands. A good example of this was the Beatles tribute act we welcomed recently.
We dearly love Amy Winehouse and ‘ Sound of the Lioness ’ are one of the top bands in the UK. They have played four sold-out gigs here before band are returning in November by popular demand. There are only ten tickets left, so do get your tickets soon if you’d like to come. Just fitting the band into our small space is a bit of a challenge. There are eight musicians including a full brass section. All great musicians in their own right. For example, on trumpet, they have Jonathan Read, who was in The Specials and his own band, Project Blackbird , have played here five times.
They are all musicians with a goal to recreate the sound of Amy Winehouse. Whether it be from her BBC concerts or staying true to her original recordings.
They are consistent with sound of the Winehouse/ Ronson style, with a full horn section, including baritone sax & flute and backing singers. They really are a top band and we guarantee it will be another top night.
