This retreat gives us the opportunity to engage in the practice of Buddha Amitayus, which is a special method to increase our lifespan, our wisdom and our merit, or good fortune.
In the sadhana of this practice Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche explains that there is nothing more precious than our human life, it is our most important possession. Our human life gives us the opportunity to experience both temporary and ultimate happiness. We need a long life, if we lose this life we lose our opportunity to experience happiness now and to attain the permanent happiness of enlightenment through our pure Dharma practice.
Each session is 1hr 15min and consists of chanted meditation in English and silent mantra recitations. You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.
The long life pills blessed in each session throughout the retreat will be distributed after the last session.
Everyone is welcome, beginners and experienced meditators alike. No special clothes are required and seating is provided in chairs and meditation cushions. There is free on street parking on the street just outside, easy access from the Westlink Divis St/ Millfield exit, and we are just 18 min walk from City Hall and Grand Central Station.
