Amis du Teche: Translation, ‘Friends of the Teche’. Simply named because its members are friends who grew up living on the historic Bayou Teche in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Amis du Teche is steeped in the Louisiana Cajun music culture. Their rich connection with their hometown of Breaux Bridge and growing up along the banks of Bayou Teche have brought each member together. The bayou is where they met, jammed, performed, and now recorded.
Adeline Miller has been playing fiddle since she was
five. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, where she was part of the Cajun Ensemble, Bluegrass Ensemble, and String Ensemble where she has transitioned to mandolin, guitar, and singing other genres of music. Adeline has
performed festivals as well such as Festival Acadiens et Créoles, Festival International, BlackPot Festival, Jazz Fest, and and SXSW. She is the 2024 Female Cajun Vocalist of the year.
Cathryn Hanks, is a guitarist, fiddler, and singer with
a long instilled love for Cajun music. She grew up playing
with her father, Ryan Hanks. The beloved cajun musician passed on his love for the culture to her and it only continues to grow.
Cameron Dupuy, born and raised in a suburb of New
Orleans, Cameron became infatuated with the sounds of
Cajun music at an early age, which is appropriate being
the son of Cajun musician, Michael Dupuy. As a result of
Hurricane Katrina, Cameron was exposed to Cajun music a little more after evacuating to Lafayette, LA. After spending several years as a guitarist, Cameron Dupuy started playing the Cajun accordion at the age of eleven. Cameron, the eight-time Cajun accordion contest winner, has now established himself as a favorite among many Cajun music fans in Louisiana.
Robert Miller, brother to Adeline, has been playing
Cajun music since he was five with acoustic guitar, bass
guitar and upright bass. He has performed with his sister,
Adeline, as far as Portland, Maine, in the USA and Nova
Scotia, Canada. Robert has also played for local venues
and festivals alongside his sister for such as the prominent Festivals Acadians et Creoles, Festival International, & Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.
