AMICI, ARIA, AMORE: A Celebration of Life, Love, Family, and FriendshipA Monumental Birthday Concert for Immanuel Floyd Lim, Tenor
Produced along with Voce Piu Voce, Double Pentagon Concerts and Manila Pianos Inc. - Amici, Aria, Amore is a special birthday concert that brings together music, friendship, and shared stories through song. Designed as both a celebration and a musical journey, the program shows how music expresses love, joy, memory, and connection across cultures and generations. The first part of the concert features well-loved works from the Western operatic tradition by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Jacques Offenbach. Their music captures a wide range of emotions—from celebration and tenderness to passion and drama—through powerful solo singing and beautifully balanced ensemble pieces. These works highlight opera’s unique ability to bring people together through shared emotion and storytelling.
The program then turns to Filipino music, showcasing works by Ernani Cuenco, Mike Velarde, T. Arevalo, T. Villaflor, Severino Reyes, and Fulgencio Tolentino. Drawn from kundiman, art song, and zarzuela, these pieces reflect everyday feelings of love, longing, humor, and pride in one’s roots. Together, they offer a warm and personal connection to culture and heritage.
By bringing these musical worlds together, Amici, Aria, Amore celebrates both artistic growth and human connection. Planned as a momentous concert to be held every five years, it marks an important milestone in the tenor’s life and career, inviting audiences to return again and again to share in music that honors friendship, family, and the lasting joy of singing together.
