About this Event
2025 has been a year with a new President who has initiated drastic changes in immigration policy in the United States.
Join us on Wednesday, September 24th at the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library at 4-6pm for a general LWVSD membership meeting and presentation of our newest Speakers Bureau talk “America's Immigration Challenges”.
This will be a great opportunity to meet other LWVSD members and leaders as well as to hear about the work the LWV is doing to defend democracy in 2025. For newer members, this is a way to connect to and learn about the League.
We will have some social time with cheese and crackers, snacks and light beverages followed by introductions of LWVSD leaders and interest group chairs.
Our Speakers Bureau team has developed the “America's Immigration Challenges” talk to present to civic and community groups. It has background on our immigration system, facts about changes under the new administration and information about potential policy directions. Our presenters, Gina Gianzero and Jane Andrews, are members of our Speakers Bureau.
Parking is available underneath the library, and parking tickets can be stamped inside the library.
Notice of Accessibility: LWVSD strives to create inclusive, accessible meetings and events that enable all individuals to fully engage with its programming. Please contact us if you need accommodations to access this event.
