GEORGE DUCAS-
It isn't often when a country singer has the rock-solid guts of Dust Bowl reveries, the jacked-up locomotion of the early Bakersfield country sound and the more modern-minted energy of Los Angeles' honky-tonk hijinks all rolled into one righteous attack. But that's George Ducas' soul to share. On his new album, LONG WAY FROM HOME, there is a distinct feeling of a new history being born. Maybe that's because Ducas is able to seamlessly connect all those elements with such a natural flair that it can be a bit overwhelming when the sound is flying at full-tilt.
On his previous albums it was obvious that something serious has always been happening with the man's music. It could be felt in the rhythms the songs featured, in the lyrics of someone who takes songwriting seriously, and maybe most of all in the voice of an all-time great country music singer. Ducas has had multipleBillboard chart hits of his own, including the breakout Top 10 “Lipstick Promises," and has even written hit records for all-timers like George Jones, Garth Brooks, The (“Dixie”) Chicks, and Trisha Yearwood and been nominated for a Grammy Award, but he’s never made an album like LONG WAY FROM HOME.
Now, teaming with Platinum producer/guitar player Pete Anderson, it is as if everything has coalesced into an undeniable force which happens once or twice a decade in country music. George Ducas is now that person moving the sound forward while always respecting what has come before him. His life and his vision have come together to create anew achievement bound to cross new borders, and so out of Los Angeles, California, the journey begins with LONG WAY FROM HOME.
The Texan, born in Galveston, lived in Texas City until the age of five with his parents, then moved to Southern California with his mother and his sister. Even at a young age, the boy felt the pull of music. His first original song, "Women and Whiskey," was written when the pre-teen was 11 or 12, and was inspired by what George Ducas thought might be on a Willie Nelson album. "I was not real sure what I knew about either of those subjects at the time, but I totally understood where it would fit in what I was listening to."
MATT AXTON & BADMOON
Some say rock is dead, but fans of Matt Axton know that Mountain Soul - Rock & Roll is alive and kicking. With The Axton Musical Legacy as his guide, this West Coast-based singer/songwriter and band leader’s music is a powerful mix of classic singer/songwriter storytelling and guitar-driven roots-rock resulting in a unique, modern Americana sound.
Matt Axton’s distinct baritone voice, unique finger-picker guitar style and wealth of legacy stories lands perfectly in an intimate listening room or a late-night honky-tonk. Whether it's getting crowds to kick up some dancing dust at large festivals opening for acts like Midland, Paul Cauthen or Leftover Salmon, getting funky entertaining packed rooms at Los Angeles’ premier Americana showcases or bringing together local and touring bands with his Americana Joy Music Series and AmericanaLand video series, the end result is always the same: good music with good people having a great time.
Grown in the mountains of California, Axton’s eclectic style was proudly honed in the heart of the Axton Musical Legacy. Matt honors his family at every show with his own versions of their #1 hits “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Joy to the World” and many more. Matt has recorded with music legends Steve Feroni (Tom Petty), Hal Cragin (Iggy Pop), Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd) and collaborated on projects such as “Abbey Road Reimaged - A Tribute to the Beatles.” Aaron Badgley of Spill Magazine said Matt’s version of “Octopus’s Garden,” “is pure genius and the best cover here. It is just a joy to listen to and really does stand out as an example of keeping the beauty of the song and artists putting their own spin on things.”
Boasting over 300 original songs and some of Los Angeles’ best players behind him, Matt Axton and his band Badmoon will hit the road running in 2024 with multiple West Coast and national tours including the recent “Badmoon Tour” in April 2024 and the Current " Crazy City Tour". Catch the new single “CFrazy City"on all streaming platforms and additional new releases and song collaborations in the coming months. Axton continues to carve his path in the independent Americana scene and proudly celebrates the family tradition of bringing just a little more “Joy to The World!”

Wyman & the Wolves -
Their self-titled debut EP serves as a tantalizing introduction to this talented LA-based band who describe their sound as “ a tasty blend of Alt-Country, Rock, and Soul”, a claim they back up with the five songs included on this EP.
Lead vocalist Kyle Wyman sounds like a more soulful version of the legendary 70s and 80s country warbler Gary Stewart on all five tracks and the musicianship and production values throughout are all superb with the Bluegrass infused fiddle playing of guest musician Jonathan Sheldon particularly standing out.
While all five of the tracks are strong, the highlights of this EP are the driving, relentless Country Rock tune “The Door”, and the mournful slow-burning Country love song “ Litte Miss Lonely Heart.”
Both succinctly highlight the ability of the band to fuse together the multiple genres of Americana in their songs and leave you humming their melodies long after listening to them.
This EP, which promises future greatness from this band, is available on Spotify. and at www.wymanandthewolves.com
