Please join Tom Kiernan, President and CEO of American Rivers, for a conversation about the vital role rivers play in ensuring clean water and protecting nature — and how we can all play a role in building a healthy future for our rivers and waters.Every living thing depends on clean water for survival. And most of that water comes from rivers. Rivers are critical to our health and natural heritage, they give us opportunities to connect with nature, and they make it possible for us to do the things we love — from fishing to hunting to enjoying the outdoors in other ways.
But today, pollution, crumbling infrastructure, and increasingly devastating storms threaten our rivers and water. This impacts our own health and well-being. Nature is suffering, too: Freshwater wildlife is dying off twice as fast as land or ocean species. Our health and the things we cherish are all on the line. It's time to come together to protect and restore the rivers all life depends on.
Life depends on rivers. It’s not just that rivers make our lives better. We can’t survive without them.
