For NEW Lifeguards.. Must be 15 years or older by the last day of the session (proof required).
. Qualification good for 2 years.
. Can be used to work throughout the US.
. Blended learning course (online theory and in-person practical).
Classroom/Online Training:
Must be completed 1 week before the in-person training.
Swimming Pretest:
The candidate must pass the test 1-3 weeks before the in-person training. hargrave.edu/pool for requirements.
In-Person training:
Session I: Saturday January 10th and Sunday January 11th, 2026 (8:00 am - 6:00 pm both days)
Cost:
$200 for Hargrave cadets/employees/Chatham Hall; $225 for the public.
Sign Up Steps:
. The candidate must contact [email protected] to set up an appointment to attempt the swim test at Hargrave pool.
. Submit a $65 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit to receive the online theory training link. (To be paid to Hargrave Aquatics)
. Remaining payment due on the first day of the in-person training.
. Maximum of 10 per session
