A 24 hour exercise that combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event.
About this Event

This is a family friendly event that will inspire and educate everyone from 9 to 99. The purpose of Field Day is for Operators across America to dust off their gear, drag it out to the field, and make as many contacts via wireless communications in a 24 hour period under less than ideal circumstances as a way to improve public service communications during emergencies. This adventure will bring out the best in field craft, mechanical and electrical skills, and even pioneer cooking styles as Operators work together to send out and receive the best signal possible and "log" contacts from all over the world. Some Operators will be using their voices, some will use their keyboards, and some may even contact satellites. Somewhere, tucked away in a remote and quite corner of the event will even be one or more telegraphers using the oldest but most dependable mode which is CW, better known as Morse Code.

An exhibit table with hands on experiments appropriate for ages 9 and above will be offered during daylight hours on Saturday and Sunday. (Minors must be accompanied by an adult while attending this event.) Take advantage of the tours that will showcase each Operator as they perform real live operations. When possible, you may be given an opportunity to make a contact under the watchful eye of a licensed Operator. What an experience it will be to talk with someone hundreds or even thousands of miles away, possibly even in another country!

Your registration serves as an entry for the grand prize of free admission to the upcoming Technician License Course where you will be instructed in the information needed to pass your first license level. This is more than a $99 value! There will be other door prizes as well. You need not be present to win but please ensure we have accurate contact information

You will find parking in well designated areas but it will be on the grass, as is most of the event, so wear comfortable shoes and take this into consideration if you or your guests are using mobility assistance. Seating, food, and drinks will be "Bring your own" as this is not a catered event and seating is limited to what each person brings. While there are many shade trees and a few areas out of the sun this is an outdoor event so please plan accordingly with sunscreen and rain gear as appropriate.
