During the workshop, the participants will read modern American short play, discuss its setting, content, characters. Then volunteer actors from the group will try to play it on an improvised stage. At the end of the workshop everybody is encouraged to share their feedback. Topics covered – relations, choices, family, life and death, basically everything that bothers and inspires human beings. Our goal is to enrich our language, learn about American contemporary theatre, practice public performance and have some fun together. Open to adult audience with a good command of English irrespective of any acting/theatrical experience. Space is limited to 10 participants. You will receive a copy of a play upon your registration with Timepad. Kindly, read the play beforehand.

Led by Denis Aksenov, a founder of Funky Chekhov’s Society that aims at keeping up your English in a creative way while having some fun together. He has been running community culture projects at American Center in Moscow; he is a current student of University of Massachusetts Liberal Arts program.
