About this Event
In his book The Sarasota School of Architecture, 1941-1966, architect and author John Howey described the 1960s as a period of “New Directions and Decline” for Sarasota’s regional movement of modern architecture. This shift reflected larger changes in the field of architecture and design. Dr. Barry Bergdoll of Columbia University’s Department of History and Archaeology will put in context the transformation that was occurring in American architecture in the latter part of the 20th century.
