American Legion Auxiliary Unit 272 Montebello is proud to continue supporting their Retired Flag Collection Bin at Post 272 Montebello, providing a convenient and respectful way for the community to properly dispose of worn or damaged American flags. In accordance with the U.S. Flag Code, which mandates that unserviceable flags be disposed of in a dignified manner, this collection bin offers a solution for residents to retire their flags with the honor they deserve. The tattered, worn and unusable flags collected will be respectfully retired during formal ceremonies held throughout the year by the American Legion Post 272 Honor Guard.
"Our mission is to honor the traditions and values that our flag represents," said Nancy Larios, President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 272. "This new collection bin is an extension of our commitment to serving veterans and the community while upholding the dignity of the American flag."
The collection bin is located at American Legion Post #272
Montebello, 616 W Cleveland Ave in Montebello.
Community members are encouraged to drop off their worn, torn, or unserviceable flags at any time. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 272 Montebello will ensure that each flag is retired properly and with full respect.
