About the Duo:

Miroslav Ambroš studied violin at the Prague Conservatory of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Germany. Mr. Ambroš has worked with great musicians such as Pinchas Zukerman, Ruggiero Ricci, and others. He exclusively undertook lessons from Maestro Josef Suk, the great-grandson of the Czech composer Antonin Dvorák, until Suk's death in 2011.

In his music career, Mr. Ambroš has been awarded various prizes, including the international competition “Du Prix des Jeunes Talents Européens de Musique Classique” in Marseille. His other accomplishments include first place in the Competition of Bohdan Warchal, Slovakia, Kocian´s Violin Competition, and Beethoven’s Hradec International Music Competition. He holds a prestigious award from the Yamaha Piano Company and won the national competition Concertino Praga for chamber ensembles.

Mr. Ambroš plays a violin made in 1734 by the Italian master luthier Camillo de Camilli. The instrument is part of a collection of musical instruments from the Czech National Museum.

Zuzana Ambrošová began her conservatory studies in the city of Košice, Slovakia, and graduated from the Music Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She also studied piano in Weimar, Germany. At the age of 16 as the laureate of the Smetana piano competition and other international competitions, she became a solo artist in the State Philharmonic Orchestra Košice. As a solo artist she made a successful appearance with the Vienna Philharmonic. She taught piano playing at the conservatory in Košice for ten years and performed in Slovakia and abroad. Mrs. Ambrošová is a highly sought-after chamber player and has been repeatedly invited to participate at international festivals and competitions.
