We are excited to announce that we will be performing our ‘Deep Beneath The Canopy’ conceptual performance LIVE under the arches and trees 🌳 at The Growforward Project in Chelfham, Barnstaple.
Amanita Grove presents a journey through the woods, uncovering the secrets of trees and hidden life within the forest through sound, storytelling and spoken word. Weaving an intricate path beneath the canopy, they reveal insights into the (super)natural world, guiding the audience through seasonal changes, life cycles, the elements and folklore.
Amanita Grove is principally a Latin, Folk and Neo-Soul duo based in Hartland, North Devon, bringing soulful vocals, Spanish guitar, loops and lo-fi rhythms. With Cheryl Silvawood’s background in woodlands and ancient & veteran trees, coupled with Jules Moberly’s extensive experience as a woodsman, they look to spread their #musicmycelium, bringing people of similar frequencies together with the love of music and Nature. For this production, Amanita Grove performs as a trio: Cheryl on vocals, spoken word, percussion and drone flute; Jules on Spanish guitar and loops; and reputed multi-instrumentalist Dave Smale on double bass and koto. This performance has been very well received locally at both Fringe Theatrefest and The Plough Arts Centre’s programme at St. Anne’s, with wonderful reviews from audiences.
As part of The Growforward Project’s Sundown Songs lineup, this event is free entry with suggested donations, and 100% of that going to support the musicians. Expect an evening of community, friends, stunning woodland views, live music and food & drink.
