About this Event

Community Champion: Individuals making a huge difference in the lives of children and families every day. These individuals offer their courage, strength, resources, and self-sacrifice in service. The general public may never know their names but reap the benefits of their work.

We are celebrating those unsung champions who help support and make our community whole!
The Ken & Iris Flamer Service Award: An altruistic individual or group that stands up to injustice and has demonstrated the desire to serve children, families, and communities through servant leadership and volunteerism.

The Eleanor Toliver Distinguished Leader Award: An early care and education leader who goes above and beyond in efforts to advocate for young children and families. This individual or organization has demonstrated an earnest effort to help achieve equity and justice in early childhood education.

Our Children's Champion Award: a person who has the highest ethical standards and demonstrates a deep, caring desire to help children, families, and communities. There has been a long-term commitment to improving the well-being of Black and brown children and families.

Young Afro Genius Award: This award is given in recognition of young leaders whose actions impact public policies, create innovative models of service, strengthen local institutions, and cultivate youth power.
