Hello everyone!We are honoured to host this practical fundraising seminar, on behalf of Amanda Lockwood.
Amanda is running in the Cancer Council's Launceston Women's 5km run later this year and is striving to raise as much money as possible, to help fight, and find a cure for breast cancer.
Amanda is also undergoing a preventive double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, one month after the run.
The seminar will be held on the 23rd of August, at the Launceston PCYC, located upstairs in the gymnastics area, 12:30-2:30pm.
To participate, the minimum will be $10 (cash payments preferred but card payments will be available).
However, participates can donate as much as they like.
All the money raised will then be donated by Dragon Heart Karate, towards Amanda's fund raising tally.
Please provide all payments to either the instructor or a designated assistant.
This practical martial arts seminar, will be instructed by Sensei James Garcia, founder and head instructor of Dragon Heart Karate.
Sensei James is an accredited instructor, with over 20 years of martial arts experience and is currently an ISKA Karate World Champion.
This practical seminar will be a basic introduction to the world of martial arts, with a range of different techniques and demonstrations.
No previous martial arts experience is required to participate.
The schedule for the seminar is as followed:
12:30pm - A quick introduction from Sensei James and a speech from Amanda.
12:45pm - The practical part of the seminar begins.
2:00pm - The end of the practical.
02:05pm - An exhibition sparring match, featuring Sensei James and a fellow martial artist.
02:20 - Closing speech from both Sensei James and Amanda.
02:30 - The seminar concludes.
