Vocalist Amanda Carr returns to the Spire with The Ken Clark Organ trio, presenting another dynamic show of jazz, blues and soul. Joined by saxophonist, MYANNA, this is a winter concert that will generate some serious heat! Special guest opening appearance by powerhouse frontmen of The Smoking Jackets. Steve Powers and Andrew Kuhn.
AMANDA CARR
Amanda is an international recording and performing artist. She is a two-time Boston Music Awards Nominee, and her five jazz albums and live performances have received worldwide critical acclaim for her fresh interpretations of the Great American Songbook. The Wall Street Journal hailed her, “…a true jazz singer in a time of wannabes.”
Not limited by any genre, she has also performed with orchestras and as a solo artist as well as with pop, rock, blues, folk, and jazz artists. Her performance credits include work with Michael Feinstein, Keith Lockhart and The Boston Pops, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Michael Chiklis Band (MCB), the Hirsh Gardner Project, and many others. www.AmandaCarr.com
KEN CLARK
Ken is internationally known as one of the world’s greatest jazz organists. He has also been *Winner of New England Blues Society, Keyboardist of the the Year* in “2006”, “2009”, “2011” & “2015”. Ken’s technical ability joined with his natural feel for funk and soul makes a night with the KCOT an authentic, special one indeed.
Ken Clark has toured and recorded with Bernard Purdie, Melvin Sparks and David “Fathead” Newman among others.
MYANNA
One of Massachusetts’ most soulful saxophonists, Myanna blends jazz improvisation with funky rhythms and catchy tunes. With a career spanning performances with bands like the Love Dogs and her own group, she brings vibrant energy to every stage. A Berklee alum and collaborator with legends like Max Roach, Myanna’s original compositions and recordings have earned her acclaim, including awards for Best Jazz Artist from the Boston Music Awards. Whether with her band or guest spots, her passionate, soulful sound keeps audiences coming back for more.
