Join us for a special evening as the Cameo Cinema screens the classic Miloš Forman film AMADEUS — 1984's acclaimed* "Best Picture" drama about the life, death, and artistic immortality of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) as recalled by aging composer Antonio Salieri, a jealous but admiring rival.
PRELUDE TO A CONCERT PERFORMANCE: The haunting strains of Mozart's final creation, REQUIEM, are integral to the film and will certainly deepen your experience the following weekend when the St Helena Choral Society, chorale, orchestra, and soloists present an all-Mozart performance centered on the legendary REQUIEM. Cinephiles rejoice! The Cameo has sourced the newly-released (Feb. 2025) 4K HD Collector's Edition of AMADEUS, remastered to honor the film's 40th anniversary. This is the long-awaited return of the theatrical-release cut, now available for the first time in decades. The Cameo Cinema, opened in 1913, is the only single-screen Art House Cinema in the United States to boast a state-of-the-art Barco 6k Cinema Laser Projector and Dolby Atmos Surround Sound.

The AMADEUS Special Event will begin at 5:00 as Eloquence Strings perform Mozart's music live on the Cameo stage and guests mingle and enjoy Mozart-inspired bites and amazing wines from our own choir family ~ including Corison, Dyer, Elyse, Lang & Reed, Migliavacca and more.

The theatrical-release cut of AMADEUS is considerably shorter than Forman's Director's Cut, with a run time of 158 minutes. We should have you back on Main Street, humming "Reeee-qui-emm Ae-tuuuuuur-naamm" before 8:30!
