About this Event

Am I Evil? Talk: Gabriela Wiener
Am I Evil? and Moussem are pleased to invite you to join a special moment of listening and collective reflection on the decolonisation of desire, histories of bodies and museum collections.
In the framework of her visit to the group of participants of Am I Evil? Brussels edition, Gabriela Wiener reads excerpts from her book Huaco Retrato, Undiscovered in English, where she explores not only the (possible) colonial history of her family tree but also the legacy of it, and the traces that this legacy leaves in the collective memory of different cultures, in her body, her sexual/amorous relations. How can these traces be recognised, appropriated and transformed?
The reading of excerpts from her book will become an occasion to talk about Gabriela Wiener's writing/research practice, and to listen to questions from the audience.
Duration: 2 h (from 5 PM until 7 PM)
Language: Spanish with live translation into English
Free of charge but registration required
