Overview
The goal of our Bible study is to (re)discover biblical truths together and to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. We believe that as we explore Scripture in a group setting, we open ourselves to deeper understanding and spiritual growth.
Our focus during the study is to present the biblical text within its proper context, which helps us see the bigger picture of God’s message. We aim to stir curiosity and encourage participants to engage with the text, fostering an environment where perspectives, ideas, and questions can be openly discussed. By allowing time for reflection, we hope to inspire personal action that reflects the truths we uncover together.
What to Expect:
1.
We'll start in the Sanctuary as a large group:
• Welcome and overview of the day (5min)
• Personal time to reflect on the biblical text (10 min)
• Large group teaching (15 min)
2.
Break - (5 min)
• Transition to small groups
• Ladies: Study Room; Gentlemen: Sanctuary
3.
After the break we'll move into small groups:
• Connect (share your highs and lows this week) (10 min)
• Group discussion (45 min)
• Personal reflection on specific actions (10 min)
• Closing prayer (5 min)
Group Guidelines:
As we gather for our group discussions, we encourage everyone to follow these guidelines to ensure a respectful and meaningful conversation:
• Keep an open mind and an open heart towards the Holy Spirit. Be receptive to what God may be revealing through Scripture and through others in the group.
• Allow each person time to finish speaking before responding. Let’s listen fully and with intention, giving each person the space to share without interruption.
• Share the floor. Keep your contributions succinct, allowing everyone the opportunity to participate in the discussion.
• Focus on the topic at hand. To keep the conversation productive, avoid going off on tangents and stay centered on the current subject.
• Maintain confidentiality. What is shared in the group stays in the group. This helps create a safe space for honest and open dialogue.
• Do not attempt to “fix” anyone. We are here to support each other, not to solve each other’s problems. Trust that God is at work in all of our lives.
• Respect the time available. Be mindful of the group’s schedule and help ensure we cover the discussion within the time set aside.
By following these guidelines, we can create a space where everyone feels valued, heard, and uplifted as we seek God’s truth together.
