Alzheimer's Research Summit presented by Dr. Maria Carrillo, Chief Scientific Officer for the Alzheimer's Association. The program is open to caregivers, students, healthcare professionals and the general public.
Current treatments are not a cure—Some drugs target the disease itself, while others benefit cognition and function or work to lessen Alzheimer’s disease symptoms such as memory loss and confusion.
Because Alzheimer’s disease is complex and not fully understood, today’s research focuses on several areas of study that aim to:
- Find treatments that may interrupt the disease process slowing or stopping its progression
- Employ strategies similar to current cancer treatments that may involve a combination of medications or management devices
- Increase participation in clinical trials, especially within minority communities
There is NO CHARGE for this conference.
