St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is honored to host Dr. Sarah Banks, Ph.D., a leading researcher in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, for an eye-opening community presentation and community dinner on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM.Dr. Banks serves as Associate Professor of Neurosciences at UC San Diego, Director of the Neuropsychology Program at the Center for Memory Disorders and Brain Health, and Associate Director of the Stein Institute for Research on Aging. She also co-leads the Women: Inflammation and Tau Studies (WITS) and the Healthy Actions and Lifestyles to Avoid Dementia Study (HALT-AD), groundbreaking projects focused on better understanding how biology and lifestyle shape brain health.
Her presentation, Alzheimer’s in Women: The Lifestyle Factors That Can Help, will shed light on a crucial truth: women represent two-thirds of all Alzheimer’s cases and often experience more severe brain changes than men.
Prior to the lecture, guests will enjoy a community dinner catered by Viewpoint Brewing Co., creating space for reflection and conversation.
This inspiring evening is open to the public with a suggested donation of $30 per person. Proceeds support ongoing community education and outreach at St. Peter’s.
