The prevalence of dementia is on the rise. Successful dementia care in skilled nursing facilities, residential communities, and the home setting requires an understanding of the disease process, communication techniques, and possible causes of unwanted behaviors in persons living with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar is an NCCDP curriculum and will provide fundamental education on dementia care to enhance the quality of life of those living with cognitive dysfunction and their caregivers.
