Every year the Alumnae Association hosts a dance in the IWHS gym and reminisces about the fantastic dances of the 1980’s and beyond. As a result of COVID-19 the 2020 reunion dance did not take place.The Alumnae Association made the difficult decision not to gather in-person inside the gym again this year. However, we are hopeful the vaccine distribution of recent months is allowing us to gather and see one another. For this reason, we are holding the reunion outside and with wonderful food from the Barrios’ family restaurants, along with the joy, energy, and enthusiasm of our Shamrock Sisterhood. Our time together also falls on San Antonio’s updated FIESTA week - and we could not think of a better way to celebrate our gathering than with our own IWHS FIESTA – Shamrock Soirée!
The reunion luncheon is on Sunday, June 27 at Viola’s Ventanas 4:00 – 8:00 PM. We will be highlighting milestone class years and hope that the class of 1960 and 1961, 1970 and 1971, 1980 and 1981, 1990 and 1991, 2000 and 2001, 2010 and 2011, and all the classes in between will celebrate their reunion and connect with fellow IWHS Shamrock Sisters on June 27th. Additionally, we will be recognizing Mary Ann De La Garza’s retirement. Ms. De La has taught and inspired IWHS Shamrocks for 42 years. Her dedication will be fêted with a tribute that will certainly honor and celebrate her lavishly!
Please come! This reunion event is for alumnae, their family members, and all friends of IWHS. This is a pre-sale ticketed event which support the IWHS Alumnae Association. You can purchase your ticket here. Individual tickets are $30.00 and include a fajita dinner. Children younger than 6 yrs. of age are free. Tickets are non refundable. Viola’s Ventanas has an outdoor play area for children, we only ask that you watch your children. As with all things San Antonio - please dress for FIESTA.
Our Shamrock Alumnae are doing great, wonderful, and exciting things. Renew friendships and revisit memories. Connect and reconnect with the IWHS spirit and fellow Shamrocks.
