Forging her own path as a first generation American of Zimbabwe heritage, Rita Mucavele, more widely recognized under her stage name ofCANVAS, encompasses music in her very DNA. Currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, CANVAS still honors her core roots of rhythm and rhyme, applying her culture to significant aspects of modern-day bass musicand using her sound as a vehicle for powerful change.

Using music as a constant outlet, even her artist moniker holds weight to it, intentionally demonstrating the influential nature of the artist-fan relationship. In silence, time can be seen as a blank slate, but, when interpreted by the listener, the moment becomes something new entirely; a canvas rife with radical self-expression and meaning. No two moments, songs, or performances are the same, all painted uniquely by the individuals within the specific experience.

Encouraging her growing audience to plug into the present moment and connect, CANVAS is unwavering in her mission of creating an all-inclusive community through acceptance and the power of transformative sound.
