Altered Thread is a textile/fiber arts exhibition at [things/found] Atelier in Portland, Oregon. There is so much beauty to be found in the threads of our everyday lives from the garments we wear, to the bags we use to carry things, to the cloth that adorns and protects the tables at which we eat. Thread is a limitless material that can challenge and reward us in art making, whether it be for practical or fine art purposes. At [things/found] Atelier, we love the concepts of reuse and transformation, using everyday fibers in new ways, using fancy fibers to make unexpected things. We love to see fiber-textiles-fabrics-threads transformed-metamorphosed-retooled-reworked-modified-changed in ways that illustrate ideas and visions.
