Always wanted to learn how to taste a wine and discover Alsatian wines?
This is your chance.
Discover the art of wine tasting and practice on Alsatian wines, followed by a traditional dinner from Alsace at the French Embassy in DC on Friday, October 17th, starting 6:30 pm.
The event will start with an interactive presentation about wines from the French Alsace region. You will then learn and practice the art of tasting wines, led by a certified wine expert.
Tasting will include 5 wines from Alsace: 3 white wines (Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer), 1 red wine (Pinot Noir) and 1 sparkling (Cremant d'Alsace).
The presentation and tasting will be followed by a 3-course seated dinner, with Alsatian specialties.

- Appetizer: Paté en croûte, a charcuterie with meat filling in flaky dough, side salad
- Main: Choucroute garnie, a hearty dish made of braised sauerkraut garnished with sausages, smoked pork meat and shank, potatoes.
- Dessert: Alsatian apple pie, made with creamy vanilla custard
A cash bar will be available for drinks purchase.
Practical details
Doors open at 6:15pm. Please allow sufficient time to park and go through security. The event will start at 6:30 pm.
No substitions for the dinner, see menu details above.

There will be no parking inside the Embassy. Easy public parking is available on Reservoir Rd.
The French embassy requires proof of identity to enter its premises.
There will be no refunds.
