Dogs and cat's lungs play a critical role in cleansing the blood and ensuring the tissues have an adequate supply of oxygen to carry out their normal metabolic functions. The respiratory system also performs several other functions; it protects the delicate airways by warming and humidifying inhaled air, and it filters out particulate material such as dust, microorganisms and pollen. The upper airways also contribute to the sense of smell and play a role in temperature regulation in panting animals.
In the same way that people ingest pollutants in tap water, pesticide residues, or breathe in indoor air contaminants, so do cats and dogs. On a daily basis, their lungs take in environmental pollutants, microorganisms, and allergens. These toxins can compromise the ability to breathe, scar the lungs and reduce the intake of oxygen. Because of an animals compressed lifespan, they can develop health problems from these exposures rapidly.
Incorporating botanicals, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients, and EFAs allows the animal’s body to relax the smooth muscles of the trachea, detoxify the lungs, expel mucus, suppress coughing, allow for easy breathing, and reduce inflammation of the respiratory system to fight infection. Find out how Pulmo-VM™, Immunine-VM™, VimForte-VM™, and Omega 3/6/9-VM™ are used to support the respiratory system of dogs and cats
