Alpha (Mélissa Boros), a troubled 13-year-old lives with her single mother (Golshifteh Farahani). Their world collapses the day she returns from school with a tattoo on her arm. Blending coming-of-age story, melodrama and Ducournau’s trademark body horror, Alpha features a trio of mesmerising central performances including Tahir Rahim as Alpha’s uncle Amin and with supporting cast including Emma Mackey and Finnegan Oldfield.
