Alp Luachra are a Mullingar based band who formed in 2018, taking their name from a mythical Irish creature. The band fuse traditional Irish music with rock, covering a wide variety of Irish classics. Alp Luachra also have a number of original tunes composed by members Enda Seery and John Byrne.The group began performing in local live music venues around Mullingar and played at the Hill of Uisneach, celebrating the Bealtaine celebration in 2019 and later that same year took to the stage at the Electric Picnic. The band have gained rave reviews for their live performances and just recently in 2022 played a rip roaring set on their return to the Bealtaine celebration at the Hill of Uisneach whilst also performing at the Westmeath Bachelor Festival in Mullingar.
The band members are: Kenny Rabbitt (vocals, guitars), John Byrne (guitars, banjo,), Wayne Gibney (bass guitar), Enda Seery (flutes, whistles, vocals) and Wayne Walsh (drums).
