ALP Africa AI Forum

ALP East Africa plans to hold the inaugural ALP Africa Artificial Intelligence (AI) Forum. The Forum will be held on 21 and 22 November 2024 under the theme “AI and the Future of Business and Professions: Unlocking Opportunities in Africa. The Forum will bring together stakeholders including entrepreneurs, innovators, policymakers and regulators to explore the integration of AI in businesses and professions in Africa.

It will offer a platform to engage in discussions on enabling a regulatory environment that promotes responsible and ethical use of AI in Africa and leveraging AI for Africa's economic development.

Ultimately, the Forum organisers seek to achieve the following objectives:

i. Generate an understanding of how AI has changed the business and professional landscape in Africa.

ii. Provide a platform for discourse on the future of AI regulations in Africa vis a vis the need to innovate and develop.

iii. Promote a human rights-centred approach to AI development and use.
