Gorgeous weather is here! Let's take advantage. This hike in the Flemish Ardennes follows the Dender river into Wallonie.The meeting location is Brussels-Midi train station at 9h00 next to the Starbucks in the main hall.
A quick reminder: Midi station is notorious for petty crime (pickpocketing, scams, etc). If you're not comfortable standing in the main hall of Midi with a group of people conversing in English, you can join us on the platform or in the train. For those that do gather in the main hall, be aware of your surroundings and your belongings. Why are we meeting at Midi? Because beween Central and Midi there are works on the tracks.
We then take the train at 9h19 direction Denderleeuw and get out at Geraardsbergen train station at 10h04. This hikes ends at Ath train station.
This hike is not a loop! The train stations are NOT on the same train line, so you'll have to buy two one-way trips or use the Railpass.
We should be back in Brussels by 18h at the latest.
You'll need to show your Eventbrite ticket for the hike when you join the group at the station. Tickets are refundable until 24 hours before the start of the hike. This event is for adults only.
