Enjoy a night of smooth jazz with Hawaiian singer, Starr Kealaheleokalani Kalāhiki & multifaceted musician and arranger, Kit Ebersbach, accompanied by his talented jazz band! Join us on Sunday, October 6 at PACC @ Kakaʻako [1034 Kawaiahaʻo Street]. Whether you’re a seasoned jazz aficionado or new to the genre, this event promises to captivate your senses and elevate your spirits.
Doors open at 5:15PM, the show will begin at 6PM.
About the Artists
Singer, Starr Kalāhiki, and pianist, Kit Ebersbach, have uncannily followed similar musical paths in their musical careers. Before they met, they both had performed well in some wildly diverse genres.
Starr began singing in Pentecostal services, then the Kawaiahaʻo Church choir, then Gothic rock, then the creatively demanding stage show ‘Ulalena, then the Hawaiʻi Opera, then the tourist boat shows. Kit had played in Waikiki shows, Korean hostess bars, country-music lounges. and 70ʻs pop music duets. He formed jazz and rock ensembles, and played his original compositions in New Wave and Exotica bands.
The day Starr and Kit met, a deep copacetic friendship was born, which informs the songs they play together and the lives they share. Starrʻs remarkable vocal flexibility. talent and willingness to explore is indeed a perfect complement to Kitʻs unusual variety of musical arrangements.
