Twin Cities PBS is excited to present “Alma’s Way: Explore Your City” at Union Depot this summer! Meet Alma Rivera from Alma’s Way and transit workers from Metro Transit, play with Imagination Playground Blocks, explore the Metro Transit Education Bus, and so much more!

Your RSVP admits you to 55 minutes of fun inside Union Depot. To improve your experience, we invite you to explore the activities outside Union Depot before and after your time slot. The North Plaza will feature food trucks, “Chalk the Block” like Alma, and the Metro Transit Education Bus! There are a maximum of six tickets per registration.

¡Twin Cities PBS se complace en presentar "Alma's Way: Explore Your City" en Union Depot este verano! Tú y tu familia están invitados a conocer a Alma Rivera de Alma's Way y a trabajadores de tránsito de Metro Transit, para jugar con bloques del Imagination Playground (Parque de la imaginación), explorar el Metro Transit Education Bus (autobús educativo), ¡y mucho más!

• Meet Alma Rivera from the popular PBS Kids show Alma’s Way (Alma will greet guests the first 30 minutes of each time slot)

• Meet transit workers from Metro Transit, including female transit workers just like Alma’s aunt, Tía Gloria, who is a conductor on the MTA 6 Train in the show

• “Chalk the Block” just like Alma on the North Plaza of Union Depot

• Explore the Metro Transit Education Bus

• Play with Imagination Playground Blocks

• Participate in activities from community partners

• Enjoy food and drinks from food trucks

• A quiet room, presented by Fraser, will be available at the event

Metro Transit: Taking Metro Transit to “Alma’s Way: Explore Your City” is a great choice! Click here for a Free Ride pass.

Parking: Unfortunately, there is no free parking in Lowertown. All ramps, lots, and street parking are paid. The closest parking options are the lots attached to Union Depot or across the street at the Lowertown Ramp.

Important notes:

• We ask all attendees to register for a time slot to join the activities inside Union Depot to help manage guest flow. All activities on the North Plaza in front of Union Depot are available the full day without registration.

• If space allows, we will register families in person at the event.

• Please register kids and adults separately.

• There are a maximum of six tickets per registration.

• We request that, if possible, strollers are left in the car.

• Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

About Alma’s Way:

Alma's Way is an engaging, animated series for children ages 4 to 6 created by Sonia Manzano, who played Maria on Sesame Street. The series stars 6-year-old Alma Rivera, a proud and confident Bronx-born, Puerto Rican girl, who lives in the Bronx with her family and a diverse group of friends and neighbors.

In each story, Alma speaks directly to the audience in her "Think Through" moments, where she learns to think for herself, make decisions, and understand other people’s points of view — while making lots of messy and hilarious mistakes all along the way.

Acerca de Alma's Way:

Alma's Way es una atractiva serie de animación para niños de entre 4 a 6 años creada por Sonia Manzano, quien interpretó a María en Plaza Sésamo. La serie está protagonizada por Alma Rivera, una niña puertorriqueña de 6 años, nacida en el Bronx, orgullosa y segura de sí misma, que vive en el Bronx con su familia y un grupo diverso de amigos y vecinos.

En cada historia, Alma se dirige directamente al público en sus momentos de "reflexión", en los que aprende a pensar por sí misma, a tomar decisiones y a entender los puntos de vista de los demás, a la vez que comete muchos errores torpes y divertidos por el camino.
