Lights Out's new satellite gallery at The Commons in Belfast, Maine, opens its first show Friday, August 22nd from 4:00-7:00pm with quilted paintings by Allison McKeen. Allison is a self taught interdisciplinary artist living and working in Gardiner, Maine. Her quilted paintings make a visual language of color and form out of fabric scraps and fragments. These sewn paintings bridge practices of quilting and drawing, making lines and shapes of the diverse textures and colors of found fabric.
